Healthy Holiday Tip #8

The countdown to Christmas and the New Year begins, but being realistic this holiday season can continue to set us up for success even after the holidays are over!

1. Have a healthy mindset that all foods, even those holiday treats can fit into a healthy eating plan.

2. If you slip with your healthier efforts, it’s important to get yourself back on track. Having one “bad” day will not cause us to get off track.

3. Don’t let others bring you down this holiday season. It’s OK to say, “no thank you” if you decide you don’t want a certain dish or festive drink that you are served.

4. Focus on what matters this holiday, such as family, friends, & traditions.

5. Rewarding yourself with a non-food item, rather than with food. We should celebrate all of our hard efforts during the holidays with an item which we have been wanting.

• Something new for the kitchen

• Handbag

• A new outfit

• Shoes

• Items for a hobby

• Tools or toolbox

• Sports gear
