Healthy Holiday Tip #7

I know I have already talked about how the holidays are a time of being possibly more sleep-deprived and stress. However, to be able to take care of the ones you love and get through the holidays, it’s important to take care of yourself too.

If you practice self-care during the holidays, you’ll be able to enjoy more of what the season holds and also have a healthier mindset!

1. Schedule “ME” time – grab a soothing cup of tea, a book, or a good holiday magazine to read and snuggle up in a comfortable place (by the fireplace is always good this time of the year).

2. Create a relaxing environment by lighting the room candles and turning on some festive holiday or relaxing music.

3. Engage in meditation or deep-breathing exercises.

4. Practice gratitude & tune into your emotions - journaling both positive & negative thoughts or what you are grateful for in your life, to be able to have an overall healthier mindset.

5. I know I have already mentioned that staying physically active and properly fueling your body during the holidays is important, but both are also ways to practice self-care during this season.
